CGC Communications Committee

The CGC Communications Committee is responsible for promoting awareness and visibility of the CGC. We also facilitate other committees and the Board of Directors in distributing their message to CGC members and non-members. The CGC Communications Committee is chiefly responsible for the CGC website, member management system, and social media profiles. You can read our social media policy HERE.


Over the years the CGC Communications Committee has:
  • Established a strong social media presence and policies with over 4800 LinkedIn and 2000 Twitter followers
  • Established a video library of past meeting presentations and webinars. Full access available for CGC members!
  • Promoted Education and Early Career Committee webinars
  • Live tweet annual meetings
  • Advocated for community interests (VALID Act statement, Membership Discounts, Expanded use of CMA Testing)
  • Promoted CGC-created resources including quiz questions and answers developed by the Education Committee, publications, and the Geneticist Toolkit
  • Featured CGC’s dedicated volunteers and committees in a spotlight post on social media
